Following the full council meeting on Thursday 23rd November 2017, Gloucester City Council has voted in favour of adopting the proposed Joint Core Strategy (JCS).

Cllr. Colin Organ, Cabinet Member for Housing and Planning at Gloucester City Council, said:

"The Joint Core Strategy is an important document that outlines the long term vision for the city and the wider area. It plays a vital part in making sure future development is consistent with the city's vision and has a positive impact on Gloucester.

"It has been a long, complicated process to get to this point, however I'm pleased this council is taking the JCS forward. It will result in significant benefits for the city, its communities and the local economy through a coordinated approach to development."

Both Tewkesbury and Cheltenham Borough Councils have meetings scheduled on the following dates, at which, they too will consider the Inspectors final report and vote accordingly:

  • Tewkesbury Borough Council - Tuesday 5th December 2017

  • Cheltenham Borough Council - Monday 11th December 2017

Please note that, all three councils must vote in favour of accepting the Plan in order for the JCS to be adopted.
