What does it mean for me?
The Joint Core Strategy (JCS) is a partnership between Gloucester City Council, Cheltenham Borough Council, Tewkesbury Borough Council, supported by Gloucestershire County Council.
The JCS was formed to produce a co-ordinated strategic development plan for the area, and will plan how the area will develop during the period up to 2031.
The JCS will set out the approach that the Councils will take:

to protect and enhance the natural and historic environment

deal with climate change
-
set out policies for the location and timing of new housing and employment development, key infrastructure, community, leisure and tourism facilities

Public Consultation
'Developing the Preferred Option'
CONSULTATION NOW CLOSED
The 'Developing the preferred option' document was subject to public consultation| between 13th December 2011 and 12th February 2012.
This document includes an overarching vision for the area and four scenarios with different levels of future development up to 2031. Strategic allocations are identified as well as three themes for providing additional future development. The document also sets out draft development management policies.

County Population Projections
The Gloucestershire County Council Research and Intelligence Team has produced an alternative population projection| based on a locally derived population evidence. It forms an alternative forecast to the Office of National Statistics projections which can form a consideration in future plans.
